Anxiety, Burnout and the Search for Clarity in Singapore

Singapore is known for its efficiency, ambition and fast pace of life. On the outside, everything appears orderly and successful. Yet beneath this polished surface, many people quietly struggle with anxiety, stress, burnout.
Over the years of offering tarot guidance, energy healing & spiritual conversations, I noticed a pattern. Many clients do not come because something dramatic happened. They come because something inside feels heavy, tired or unclear.
They say things like
“I feel exhausted but I cannot explain why.”
“I am doing everything right but still feel lost.”
“I cannot quiet my mind.”
This experience is far more common than most people realize.
The Silent Stress Many Singaporeans Carry
Several recent studies show how widespread emotional exhaustion has become in Singapore.
A 2024 workforce survey found that 47% of workers in Singapore feel mentally or physically exhausted by their work, which is one of the key symptoms of burnout. Link
Another assessment conducted with more than 15,000 employees through the Ministry of Manpower’s iWorkHealth Programme found that about 1 in 3 workers reported experiencing work-related stress or burnout. Link
At a broader societal level, mental health concerns are also increasing. The National Population Health Survey reported that about 17% of Singapore residents experience poor mental health, while another study found around 26% of adults show mild symptoms of anxiety or depression. Link
Even more striking, workplace wellness reports estimate that over 60% of employees in Singapore experience burnout symptoms. Link
These numbers reveal something important. Burnout is not rare. Anxiety is not unusual. Feeling overwhelmed is not a personal failure. It is a reflection of the environment many people live within.
My Personal Observation Through Healing Work
Through my work in energy healing, tarot guidance and spiritual consultations, I often see people arrive at a turning point. Externally their lives may look successful. Internally something feels misaligned.
Sometimes the energy field feels scattered, as if a person has been giving their attention everywhere except themselves. Other times the heart centre feels closed after years of fear, pressure, disappointment or unresolved emotions.
One thing I noticed repeatedly is this. Most people are not actually searching for solutions.
They are searching for clarity:
In their direction.
About what their body is trying to say.
About what truly matters in their life.
When clarity returns, the anxiety often begins to soften.
Why Clarity Matters
When the mind is overwhelmed, every decision feels heavier. Without clarity, people may continue running on the same cycle that created the burnout in the first place. Clarity creates space.
It allows a person to pause long enough to ask deeper questions:
What is draining my energy?
What am I holding onto that no longer serves me?
What part of myself have I neglected or choose not to acknowledge?
This is where spiritual practices, reflection & energy healing work can help. Not as a quick fix. Not as an escape from life. Rather as a way to reconnect with oneself.
A Gentle Reminder
If you are feeling anxious, burnt out, emotionally tired, please remember this. You are not alone.
The numbers show that many people in Singapore are navigating the same internal pressure. Yet most people carry it silently. Taking time to reconnect with yourself is not weakness. It is an act of self-respect. Sometimes the greatest shift does not come from doing more. It comes from pausing long enough to rediscover clarity.
Sometimes the answers you are searching for are already within you. They only need space to be heard.
